Test Profile Template
The Test Profile Template is used by
trading partners to document their test readiness, capability and
methodology. Use of the document facilitates communication between
trading partners in order to expedite direct testing and
establish reasonable expectations. Historically, this exchange has
been the result of multiple communications with trading partner
contacts resulting in incomplete or contradictory information
regarding testing. The template is designed to solicit the collection
of consistent information serving both the sender and the recipient of
a given transaction (e.g. 837/835 etc).
Template Usage
Trading partners are encouraged to
submit a test profile for each transaction (e.g. 837, 270, 835 etc.)
exchanged with any member of the MN Collaborative. It is only
necessary for a trading partner to submit a single profile to the
Collaborative if that profile is sufficient to reflect the submitter's
test capability. However, if the submitter originates multiple
transaction (e.g. 837 claims) exchanges from different internal
systems with significantly different degrees of test readiness,
capability and methodology, a test profile for each system should be
submitted. Likewise, as submitters test capability change and evolve,
revisions to the profile should be submitted to insure up-to-date
information.
Once submitted to the MN Collaborative,
the profiles will be referenced by the Collaborative members to
facilitate point-to-point testing. Submitted profiles will not be made
available outside of the MN collaborative community without the
written permission of the originating trading partner. However, MN
HIPAA Collaborative member themselves make their profiles available to
the public in order to expedite their testing process and establish
shared testing expectations.
Prior to the exchange of an actual test
transaction file, the originator of the transaction should:
1. Determine which transaction is to be exchanged e.g. 837 Claim, 835
Remittance etc.
2. Review the transaction's test profile provided by the recipient
trading partner.
3. Download and complete the Test Profile Template for the
originator's organization.
4. Submit their completed template to the MN Collaborative
administrator at info@mnhipaacollab.org
.
